Reimagine Leadership

Dalai Lama Fellows cultivates and supports an international movement of young social innovators to meet global challenges in locally adapted ways as they promote our planet’s flourishing

Emerging social change makers face immense challenges in their work. The acute stress and complexity of addressing global issues like environmental devastation, systemic poverty, and gender inequality with often inadequate resources can result in young social innovators burning out and questioning the sustainability of their vocations. Many leadership programs focus on innovative ways for leaders to grow their organizations, improve their efficiencies and bottom-lines, and expand their impacts. Few programs, however, have a central focus on the well-being of the social innovators themselves, or the kinds of social, emotional, and intercultural skills necessary for them to truly flourish and sustain their work in ways that also engender the flourishing of the communities with which they engage.

Dalai Lama Fellows (DLF) is a unique one-year leadership program for emerging social change makers designed to help them cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and compassion via conscious practices; broaden their cultural perspectives; learn how to engage in efficacious ways with complex systems; and situate their work with local communities in sustainable ways. DLF’s ultimate goal is to help young social innovators to integrate contemplative work and intentional personal transformation with their efforts to bring about positive change in communities and the more-than-human world.

Dalai Lama Fellows is a unique experience. It is not a curriculum, it is a journey, a journey of self-exploration, faith, and hope. It augments your faith in humanity and crafts a new definition of leadership for you which is based on the most basic values of humanity, i.e., love and compassion.
